The new 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD is looking to be one of the best pickup trucks on the road. If you’re looking for your next Chevy truck, we’ve highlighted its benefits, including some of the key changes over last year’s model.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs. HD vs. EV

There are three versions of the Chevrolet Silverado: the 1500, HD, and EV. The Silverado HD is larger, wider, taller, and heavier than its 1500 counterpart, which makes it better for towing and hauling heavy loads.

The Silverado EV, meanwhile, uses an electric powertrain and features an expanded lineup, including an additional battery size. It produces robust performance due to its two electric motors and standard all-wheel drive.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado Features

Performance

There are a range of powertrain options available for the 2025 Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD, including:

  • 2.7-liter Turbo: 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque
  • 5.3-liter V-8:  355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.2-liter V-8:  420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque
  • 3.0-liter Duramax Diesel: 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque

You can also opt for either rear- or four-wheel drive on all models except for the Trail Boss trim level, which exclusively offers four-wheel drive. When properly equipped, the 2025 Silverado HD has a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds.

As for the Silverado EV, each model uses two motors to produce up to 754 hp. The towing capacity is lower at 10,000 pounds max, and the max payload capacity is 1,440 pounds.

The driving range for the electric model depends on several factors, the biggest of which is the battery pack you select. The Work Truck models have an estimated range of 450 miles, while other models have 393 miles. Also, you can quickly charge your Silverado EV at a DC charging station, adding about 100 miles in just 10 minutes.

Interior Comfort

Inside the cabin, you have many options in terms of interior features and comfort. At the low end, there’s the basic Work Truck model, which has the essentials. Those purchasing the Work Truck version will likely appreciate the easy-to-clean cabin.

On the higher end are the High Country and ZR2 trims for the 1500/HD models and the RST for the electric models. The High Country and ZR2 trims offer leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 13.4-inch touch screen infotainment system, and Google-powered voice assistance. With nine trim levels to explore, you can find the one that fits your preferred balance of comfort and price.

With the Silverado EV RST, you’ll get premium features, such as a fixed glass roof, black-and-white two-tone leather upholstery, a spacious cabin, and an 11-inch infotainment touch screen.

Safety

Every Chevrolet Silverado comes packed with a host of standard safety features. Each model includes a forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, a rear cross-traffic alert, a lane departure warning, and a lane-keep assist. Advanced safety features, such as GM’s hands-free-driving technology, are available on higher trim levels. The exception is the electric model, which offers adaptive cruise control as standard.
