2021 Silverado Interior – Seating, Storage, Colors & More

February 16th, 2021 by

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado has built a strong reputation as a pickup truck with the power and storage capacity to get the job done. A wide range of engines to choose from, starting with the 2.7-liter turbocharged V-4 and topping out with a 6.2-liter V-8, ensures that you’ll never be short of power, no matter how heavy the load you’re carrying. But what about the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1,500‘s interior for 2021?

Let’s take a look at some of its key features.

Storage Capacity

Probably the first thing on your mind when it comes to the Silverado’s interior is its storage capacity. This comes in at just over 89 cubic feet, the majority of which is in the cargo cabin. You’ll also find smaller storage spaces under the seats, behind the row of seats, and in a large compartment in the central stack between the driver’s and front passenger’s seats.

The Silverado’s cargo box with a regular cab measures 22.4 inches in height, 98.1 inches in length, and 71.4 inches in width. These dimensions can vary if you opt for an extended cab, which we’ll take a look at later on. Higher trims add cargo box LED lighting, which will come in handy when you’re completing jobs in the evening. If you regularly move heavy loads around in your truck, you may want to choose the LTZ trim, which adds a power up and down tailgate to make it easier to access your cargo box from the rear.

Chevy Silverado Seats

If you choose the base Work Truck trim, the Silverado can seat three passengers in the cab on vinyl-lined seats. By upgrading to the Custom trim, you can replace the vinyl coverings with cloth seating for a touch more comfort. A 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat is available with the LT trim, and you can have heated front seats if you upgrade to the LTZ trim. That option will also replace the cloth seat coverings with perforated leather and give you a heated leather-lined steering wheel.

The seats are spacious and comfortable for adults. Passengers can enjoy over 44 inches of leg room, 43 inches of head room, and 66 inches of shoulder room.

The Silverado’s standard entertainment system is Chevrolet Infotainment 3. In the base trim, it’s equipped with a 7-inch screen and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. You’ll also benefit from Bluetooth connectivity and a 3.5-inch monochromatic driver information center, which will allow you to monitor your speed and vehicle performance while you’re on the road.

Improvements to the infotainment system are available as you move up through the Silverado’s trims. The Custom trim adds SiriusXM Satellite Radio to the package, while the LT trim comes with a larger, 8-inch infotainment screen. The driver information center display also increases to 4.2 inches on LT models. If you want top-of-the-line infotainment features, choose the High Country trim. It includes a seven-speaker Bose sound system and access to Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium. Additionally, the driver information display is increased in size to an 8-inch screen and you also get wireless charging for your electronic devices.

Driver Assistance Technology

In the base trim, the Silverado offers a rear vision camera and teen driving technology, which can make a big difference if you have a young family member learning to drive. Moving up through the trims, you can add hitch guidance with the Custom model, which will help you hook up a trailer or anything else you want to tow.

The LTZ trim adds a number of helpful driver features, such as front and rear parking assistance, lane change alert, and rear cross traffic alert. You’ll also get driver memory settings, which are especially useful if you want to store routes and other driver preferences. Step up to the top High Country trim and you’ll enjoy a connected navigation system so you can respond to traffic, construction work, or other unexpected disruptions while you’re on the go.

You should take a look at the Custom Trail Boss or LT Trail Boss trims if you do some off-roading or need to finish a job off the beaten track. The Custom Trail Boss adds a hill descent control to your driving features, making it easier for you to handle your truck on steep gradients. The LT Trail Boss includes all-weather floor linings so your cabin can cope with wet or dirty footwear and other items.

Air Conditioning and Comfort

The basic single-zone air conditioning system in the Silverado will help you and your passengers to stay comfortable in the cabin whatever the temperature outside. For more convenience, you can get a dual-zone automatic temperature control on all models from the LT trim on up. The Trail Boss trims are also fitted with heavy duty air filters to ensure good air quality even when you’re driving on rugged or dirty surfaces.

Crew Cab

A good alternative for you if the standard cab on the Silverado doesn’t offer enough space is the 2021 Silverado 1,500 Crew Cab. The cab adds a second row of seats so you can accommodate five or six people. However, keep in mind that you pay for the extra row of seats with a shorter cargo bed. With the Crew Cab, your cargo box is reduced to 69 inches in length from 98 inches with the standard cab. While this is still probably enough for most people’s daily needs, you may be better served by the standard cab if maximum cargo space is your top priority.

So that’s it! We’ve taken you through all of the important features of the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1,500 interior. Did we cover everything you wanted to know? Do you still have questions about the Silverado or any of its trims?
