The Chevrolet Silverado is a series of trucks made by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. The Silverado was first introduced as a light-duty pickup truck in 1999 by General Motors, an automaker synonymous with high-quality vehicles. Chevrolet has fine-tuned the Silverado 1500 every year since the truck’s remodel in 2019. Robust, rugged, and ready to work, the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado combines modern style with the muscle you expect from a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Also, there are eight different trim packages for the 2022 Silverado, so you’ll definitely find something that works for you.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado Towing Capacity Per Engine

You’ll be able to choose from four engine options when you opt for a Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Regardless of the engine, this car will fulfill your towing and hauling needs in the Boardman and Youngstown areas. Each engine offers different levels of performance, so you only pay for the power you need. Check out the engines available for the 2022 Silverado 1500:

  • 6.2L V-8 with dynamic fuel management. With this engine, the Silverado 1500 RST can tow a maximum of 13,300 pounds. This V-8 generates 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V-8 with dynamic fuel management. The Silverado produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque when fitted with this unit. Plus, you can tow a maximum of 11,500 pounds and 10,000 pounds with active fuel management enabled.
  • 3.0L DuramaxTurboDiesel Engine. The Silverado’s towing capacity is 9,500 pounds with this optional diesel powertrain, which produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
  • 2.7L Turbo with Active Fuel Management. It supplies 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. And thanks to this powertrain and other components, the Silverado offers better mileage per gallon of gas and 9,600 pounds of towing capacity.

Additionally, a new off-road-oriented ZR2 trim joins the Silverado lineup for 2022. Adopting its trim level name from the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, the Silverado ZR2 variant combines off-road prowess with V-8 power. The 420-horsepower Silverado ZR2 uses Multimatic-sourced DSSV spool-valve shocks and offers locking front and rear differentials. Furthermore, it adds a number of exterior improvements to its other upgrades, including special 33-inch all-terrain tires, a unique skid plate package, and a steel front bumper with high approach angle.
