Chevy Blazer Interior: Seats, Safety, Specs, & Technology
The Blazer name has a special place in the history of Chevrolet. The company started making models with the Blazer name in the late 1960s with a short wheelbase truck. It has since evolved to be a regular offering in the company’s mid-sized SUV line, providing comfortable travels for up to five people.
The 2022 Blazer is now on the street. What’s it like on the inside? The team at Cochran Chevrolet has put together this overview of the car’s interior. We’d love you to come to see this car in person with a test drive. Until then, here’s what you need to know:
Seating
Drive and ride in comfort in the Chevrolet Blazer, which offers leather-appointed or cloth seat trim, depending on the model you choose. Your first question may be this: Does the Chevy Blazer have 3rd-row seating? Because the Blazer is one of Chevy’s offerings in the mid-size SUV category, the answer is no. The car comfortably seats five people across the front and rear rows. However, the Blazer’s second row of seats is flexibly arranged, though. The seats are in a 60/40 split, with the ability to fold down to create the extra room you might need.
Drivers will be able to find their comfort zone with power-adjustable seats. The Chevrolet Blazer RS adjusts eight ways; other trim choices provide the capability for six-way adjustments. All models of the Blazer offer 2-way adjustable headrests for both front seat and rear passengers. The front passenger seat in the Blazer RS and Blazer Premier is 6-way power-adjustable.
Dimensions for Passengers and Cargo
The Chevy Blazer in 2022 continues to offer ample room for both passengers and cargo. The total passenger volume is 107.8 cubic feet, with 41 inches of legroom in the front and 39.6 inches in the rear. Headroom will vary between 36 inches and 39 inches, depending on whether you buy a vehicle with or without a sunroof.
Luggage and other cargo you need for your journey will fit nicely in the 64.2 cubic feet of space that is freed up when the rear seats are folded. If you are driving a crowd and need to use those rear seats, cargo space is about 30.5 cubic feet.
Chevy offers a line of accessories that will allow you to organize your cargo in the way that makes the most sense. Available accessories include an adjustable cargo fence, a horizontal cargo net, a vertical cargo net, and rubber cargo area mats. You can also deploy a cargo sunshade to keep your goods from baking in the sun.
Technology
The driver-centric character of the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer extends to its interior technology. An 8-inch diagonal color touch screen offers access to the Chevrolet infotainment system. The system is standard on its own in the Blazer LT. However, navigation is an additional standard feature on the Blazer RS and Premier and is also available in the Blazer 3LT.
Drivers will also appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities with available 4G LTE, allowing you to connect to the internet when you need it. Amazon Alexa connections are also integrated into the system. You will also be able to connect your mobile phone to the car with either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, allowing you to use the apps on your phone. In case you need to navigate manually, the Blazer comes with a standard digital compass.
The Blazer 3LT also offers a 4.2-inch driver information center that delivers data about the vehicle, warning messages, and other personalized features. The Blazer RS and Blazer Premier have an 8-inch driver information center. Use the SUV’s charging-only USB ports to keep your mobile phone or other devices fully powered.
If you’re a family that responds differently to changes in weather, you can customize your section of the car through the Blazer’s dual-zone automatic climate control. This allows for individual settings for the driver and front passenger.
A six-speaker audio system with speakers positioned around the cabin will allow you to enjoy music and news from the radio, songs from your playlists, or your favorite podcast. If you reach a point where you prefer quiet time, you will enjoy the Blazer’s active noise cancellation. This feature blocks out noises from the outside and also dampens and eliminates vibrations. Additionally, in-cabin microphones distinguish and cancel unwanted powertrain noise.
Safety
The interior of the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer offers many important safety features and functions to give you peace of mind as you drive. You can get a view of what’s behind you through the standard HD rear-vision camera. You can also add HD surround vision to get a wider view of your exterior environment.
Standard across the Blazer models is the Chevy Safety Assist Package, which includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, forward collision alert, and IntelliBeam auto high beams. Finally, the Chevy Blazer models are all universally compatible with the OnStar system, which can recognize when you have been involved in an accident, check on your status and send emergency services as appropriate.
Add in children-protection rear door locks and power door locks all around, and you should rest easy knowing that Chevrolet Blazer and its technology have features to keep you and your passengers safe. The Blazer even offers safety alert seats as an option. What this means is in the event of an anticipated crash, your seat will vibrate on the left, the right, or both sides in case you have time to take corrective action. Do you sometimes travel with valuables? The Blazer comes standard with an electronically locking glove box to keep your things safe.
The best way to find out if a car is for you is to get behind the wheel.
