August 16th, 2021 by

When you determine it’s time to shop for a new truck, you have a number of different features, equipment, and customizations to consider before deciding on a model. From the cab size to the towing power to the interior features, there’s a lot to take in, but one of the most important pieces of the puzzle is the size of the bed. What you choose can determine the jobs your truck can handle and what it can haul. There’s no competing with what Chevy has to offer when it comes to customization and truck beds. Take a look at the different Chevy truck bed sizes.

The larger extended cab has room for up to six passengers and comes with the short box. The measurements for the Colorado bed sizes include:

Want to turn your Colorado into the ultimate machine? Chevy makes all kinds of accessories available, such as the Sportz truck tent and the Ground Tent, with an attachment sleeve to seamlessly connect them to each other and the truck, or the 6-foot bed cargo net to help keep your gear securely in place when you hit the road. If you use your Colorado in and around the Youngstown area as a work truck, the Half Steel Utility Ladder enhances the cargo-carrying capacity, and the bed extender flips either in or out to expand the length of the cargo area or help contain longer items.

The Silverado 1500 is a capable full-size pickup truck. The lineup offers seven trims, and Chevy offers the truck with three cab sizes and a choice of three bed lengths. Here’s what you need to know about the Chevy Silverado bed size.

Chevy made some significant changes to its Silverado lineup for the 2021 model year. In addition to the size of the bed, it’s important for Youngstown area drivers to know the features and benefits they can enjoy with their Silverado pickup truck bed. It comes with:

  • High-strength roll-formed steel construction.
  • Twelve standard tie-downs.
  • The option for the new Multi-Flex Tailgate. This tailgate is optional for any trim level and offers six functions designed to help with loading, accessing the cargo bed, and unloading. The primary gate opens from the key fob or from a switch inside the truck, the primary gate load step keeps long items from sliding out, and you get easy access in an inner gate that folds down so you can reach farther into the bed. There’s also a full-width step, an inner gate load step, and an inner gate with the work surface.
  • The cargo bed view camera with Cargo Bed Zoom, which enables the driver to see their cargo bed so they can check on their load. The zoom function is new for the 2021 model year.
  • An available power up and down tailgate.
  • An available 120-volt power outlet for the bed.
  • Available LED lighting.

The Silverado Heavy Duty models are available with the regular cab, the crew cab, and the double cab, and these offer either the standard length bed or the long box. The dimensions of the beds are slightly different from the Silverado 1500.

Silverado HD Truck Bed Features and Equipment

Even though the dimensions are different, you can expect to get the same features and benefits with the Silverado HD truck bed. It’s also available with the Multi-Flex tailgate and comes with 12 standard tie-downs that are all rated for up to 500 pounds per corner in any direction. Chevy also offers nine removable accessory tie-downs.

The Silverado HD truck bed has a low bed floor height to make it easy to lift items in at the tailgate, and it has an integrated BedStep to provide easy access to the front of the bed, even if you have a fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer hitch. Chevy optimized the bed rail height to allow clearance for larger gooseneck or fifth-wheel hitches, and the Durabed is available with a power up and down tailgate. Access to the bed is easy with the large corner step rear bumper, and you can see all your gear even at night with the available LED cargo area lighting and perimeter lighting.
